Fort Concho Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas

The Fort Concho Chapter of the DRT was organized on 29 April 1945 by Mrs. W.W. Carson. At the meeting of 2 June 1945 Mrs. Clint Johnson suggested the local chapter be named for Fort Concho. The organization is dedicated to the preservation of Texas history. The collection consists of scrapbooks compiled by the organization, 1945-1997; booklets of annual meetings, 1893-1895, 1931-1999; two boxes of business records, 1945-1992; DRT Newsletters from the 1990s; one book, Fifty Years of Achievement: History of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas.
